subscription & billing terms

1. What this covers

These terms govern every paid arrangement on Resolve: Token packs, Sports Pass subscriptions, Founding Commissioner seats, and monthly support contributions.

2. Registration is free

Creating an Account requires a valid payment card but costs nothing. Adding a card is not authorization to charge it. You are charged only when you take a separate, affirmative action to purchase something, and each purchase has its own consent step showing you the amount before you commit.

3. Token packs

Token packs are one-time purchases. Tokens are product credits with no cash value; they are not transferable, refundable, or exchangeable for money.

You'll see the pack size, the price, and the total before you confirm. Payment is taken once. Nothing recurs.

If you are in the EEA or UK: you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase. Because Tokens are made available immediately, you will be asked to consent to immediate delivery and to acknowledge that doing so ends your withdrawal right. If you don't consent, we can't deliver the Tokens immediately.

Token packs are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise, or where we have made a billing error or charged you twice — in which case contact us and we'll fix it.

4. Sports Pass

4.1 The trial

Sports Pass begins with a 7-day free trial. The trial is limited to one per payment method. If a card has been used for a Sports Pass trial before, a new trial can't be started with it.

At the end of the 7 days, your subscription starts automatically and your card is charged, unless you cancel before then. We'll tell you the exact date and the exact amount before you start the trial, and we'll send it to you in writing afterward.

Cancelling during the trial costs nothing and you're never charged.

4.2 Price and renewal

Sports Pass has three tiers — Pass ($19.99/month), Edge ($39.99/month), and Desk ($79.99/month) (annual plans $149 / $299 / $599 respectively) — unless you hold a Founding Commissioner rate. Your subscription renews automatically each period on the same date until you cancel. Each renewal charges the card you have on file.

4.3 Changing tiers

Upgrades between tiers take effect immediately and we charge the prorated difference for the remainder of the period; downgrades take effect at your next renewal.

4.4 Founding Commissioner

Founding Commissioner seats are sold as league seats. The commissioner and every member of that league pay $5.00 per month.

The $5.00 rate is locked from signup until the subscription is first cancelled. If it lapses or is cancelled, the rate is lost and re-subscribing is at the then-current standard price. The rate does not pause and cannot be resumed at the locked price once cancelled.

A member's locked rate does not travel with them. It applies only within the founding league; leaving the league ends the locked rate.

Founding Commissioner seats do not include the 7-day trial. Members are charged the first $5.00 immediately at activation. The commissioner receives a one-year (365-day) free period, after which the seat auto-bills $5.00 per month.

Because the commissioner's free period runs a full year, we will remind you before it converts. We will email you at least 7 days and not more than 30 days before the first charge, telling you the date, the amount, and how to cancel. You will not be charged at the end of a year-long free period without advance written notice.

4.5 What we send you in writing

For every purchase — Token pack, Sports Pass, Founding Commissioner seat, or monthly support — we will email you a confirmation you can keep, within 24 hours, containing:

• what you bought and the amount charged
• the billing interval, if it recurs
• the date of the next charge
• how to cancel, with a direct link to the cancellation page
• a link to these Terms

Where a free or discounted period converts to a paid charge, we also send the advance notice described above.

5. Monthly support

Monthly support is a recurring $5.00 per month charge. It is a voluntary contribution to Resolve Research LLC, a for-profit company. It is not a charitable donation and is not tax-deductible. It renews automatically until you cancel, and everything in Sections 6 and 7 applies to it.

6. How to cancel

You can cancel any subscription yourself, online, at any time, from your Account settings.

We think making cancellation difficult is a hostile practice, so we don't do it. There is no phone call, no email, no chat, no "are you sure" maze, and no retention offer. The cancel button is on your Account page and it works on the first click.

• Cancelling during a trial: no charge, access ends at the end of the trial period.
• Cancelling a paid subscription: it stays active through the end of the period you've already paid for, then stops. No further charges.
• We'll confirm on screen and by email, and tell you the exact date access ends.

7. Refunds

Subscription charges are not refundable for partial periods. If we made a billing error, charged you twice, or charged you after you cancelled, contact us and we'll refund it.

If we materially reduce a paid entitlement you've already bought, we'll refund the unused portion pro rata.

Statutory refund rights, where you have them, are unaffected by anything here.

8. Price changes

We may change subscription prices. If we do, we'll email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and the new price applies from your next renewal. If you don't want to continue, cancel before then. Founding Commissioner rates are governed by Section 4.4.

9. Failed payments

If a charge fails, we'll retry and let you know. If it keeps failing, we may suspend the subscription until payment succeeds. Your Account and any Tokens you've already bought aren't affected.

10. Taxes

Prices exclude tax unless stated. Where we're required to collect sales, use, VAT, or similar tax, it will be shown before you confirm.

11. Payment processing

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number. We do store an identifier Stripe supplies that lets us enforce one trial per payment method.

12. Chargebacks

If you have a billing problem, contact us first — it's faster than a chargeback and we will fix genuine errors. We may suspend Accounts with chargebacks filed without first contacting us.
